Veg Porn Review

Veg Porn is an extremely unique site catering to a very specific group of people: vegans and vegetarians. There are nods to some other "alternative" lifestyles or fetishes such as tattoos, piercings, homosexuality/transgender, and "natural" girls (natural meaning they don't shave) but the primary focus, as you can guess from the url, is vegans/vegetarians. How, you might ask, can a porn site cater to vegans and vegetarians? Well, certainly not with a meat lover's pizza, 2 dozen buffalo wings and a deli tray! (Get it? with food...hehe...anyway). Seriously though, all of the models on VegPorn are vegans or vegetarians, many of the photosets contain accompanying vegetarian/vegan recipes, and there is also a real "community" feel to the site (through personal profiles) that appeals to those in the vegetarian lifestyle with articles of interest and personal ads.

The Veg Porn main members page is nearly identical to the main page on the free side of the site. This is good in a way because it allows you to familiarize yourself with the site and check out a lot of the stuff that you'll see when you become a member. The bad thing about it is that a lot of the menu options/sections that may belong in the free area of a site but DON'T belong in the members area (namely a shitload of ads and links) carry over here too. As a result, you'll see an entire Friends section, a links section, as well as a list of top referring sites and random banner ads scattered around the site. In any case, since a lot of the sections on the free side are identical to those in the members area, I'm going to concentrate on the stuff that is exclusive to members.

To access the pics on Veg Porn, you'll need to go to the Models section. You'll see thumbnails of the available models (there are currently 16 of them, 6 men and 10 women). When you click on a thumbnail, you're presented with their personal page (looks pretty much exactly like the free side) with various stats and facts about the model and links at the bottom of the page to the various photosets they have to offer. One difference between members area and tour here is that you can only access the email and journal (if they have one) of a model if you're a member. As far as photosets, each model doesn't really have that many...usually 1 or 2 (although I saw one person with 3 and another with 4). Probably the cutest thing about VegPorn is that some of the photosets are actually recipes. What I mean is the series consists of a textual recipe in the middle of the page and accompanying pics of the model actually making the dish in the recipe naked. Never seen something like that before, that's for sure. In the non-recipe photos, you'll see mainly softcore stuff, except for one artistically shot boy-girl shoot. The pics are artsy (black and white, weird angles, closeups etc.) in some series and straight-ahead in others. I'll leave it to you to check out the models on the free side and see what you think of them. Some of them are a little "interesting" as you can tell by their pics and profiles. Btw, if you find out what a "Genderqueer transwoman" is (as the one guy calls himself), please let me know. Anyhow, like I said, take a look and see what you think.

As far as quality and size go...The recipe photos come in one size: 640 x 480. These are what I'd call average quality and there are some blurry and out of focus pics here and there. The non-recipe photosets have dial-up and broadband versions of the photos. The larger ones are 800 x 533 and the smaller versions are 500 x 333. They also have a slideshow feature set up with the pics, which is a nice touch. I'd say the quality is basically average for amateur sites. Nothing glaringly wrong, but nothing spectacular either.

The only other sections I saw in the members area but not the free side were the calendar area (basically just a dated listing of various vegan, gay and lesbian, political, and animal rights events) and the Mingle section. This area is sort of like a small personals section where you can create a profile, post pics of yourself, and search the other profiles by state. There are currently only 39 profiles, so we're not talking AdultFriendFinder here or anything. It does add a sense of commnity to the site though.

Bottom Line definitely gets big points for uniqueness. In fact, I think the site is most likely one-of-a-kind. If you're vegan or vegetarian and you like porn, well here's a website that combines the two. Uniqueness aside, there are some problems here, most notably the small amount of content, lack of videos, and large amount of ads carried over from the free area. I did enjoy the recipe sets though. Cute idea. Anyhow, if you're a part of this unique lifestyle and have a fondness for porn, you should definitely give a look.
