Arika Ames is a super hot, super cute brunette amateur who's had her own website since June 2004. She says she started her website right after she turned 18 in order to pay for college and by the looks of things, she seems to be really enjoying herself and paying her tuition at the same time. Her site has photos, videos, and a couple of weekly camshows as well as a message board Arika regularly posts on. I'm looking forward to checking out Arika's site; she's got a smoking little body (5'1" and 99 pounds) and a very cute face (and I typically don't like girls with short hair. Go figure, huh?). Arika's members area is all decked out in various shades of pink with a couple of cute graphics of her at the top of the page and a nice, personal welcome message in the middle. Navigation is extremely easy and accomplished though a straight-forward menu of four choices (Home, Pictures, Video, Chat) immediately below the title graphics. I think this sweet and simple design fits her look and content very well. I started out by taking a look at Arika's Picture section. There are currently 65 photosets here and a total of 3,281 pics. The amount of photos per set varies somewhat: earlier series usually have around 40 images, the more recent stuff 60-80. Checking out the pics, the big problem here is definitely size. All of Arika's photos are pretty small; the biggest I could find was 450 x 600, but a lot of the pics are really tiny at 360 x 480. The quality's fine (although some have the common amateur problem of being a bit dark or muted from inadequate light), but they're just way too small for pics being added in 2004. As I've said in other reviews, I normally want to see pics weigh in at at least 600 x 800 or larger regardless of the model in the photos, but with a chick as hot as Arika Ames, it's even more of a shame. She'd just look so damn good in nice huge pics like 768 x 1024, dammit! Please oh please, make them bigger. Anyhow, on to the good news: the content of the pics themselves. It looks like the vast majority of the sets are solo and softcore with a few masturbation series (including toys) and some very vanilla posing with other girls mixed in. Mainly, the sets consist of Arika posing in a skimpy outfit and then stripping down to nothing at all through the course of the pics (I will warn you that some of the photosets are no-nude though). Arika really just looks so damn cute in the pics and definitely appears to be enjoying showing off for the camera. There are indoor shoots (couch, bedroom, kitchen, bathtub, laundry room) and outdoor shoots (at a lake, public restroom, woods, park, train tracks, river, hotel balcony, and more). Arika models a plethora of outfits from some very sexy lingerie (teddies, babydolls, etc.) and bras/thongs to blue jeans, dresses, tanktops, and a super skimpy white thong bikini (probably one of my favorite series on the whole site). As I mentioned earlier, Arika does do some masturbation in a handful of her photosets, using everything from a rubber duckie in the bathtub to orgasm beads and a few dildos/vibrators. Next up is Arika's Video section. She has 14 full videos available here, each one broken into multiple clips. She has three categories of clips: broadband (WMV), dial-up (WMV), and downloadable (MPG). Actually all of the clips are both downloadable and streamable, but the ones Arika specifically designates as being for "download" are the best quality. After the small size of Arika's photos, I was a bit concerned about what I might find when I took a look at her videos. I was pleasantly surprised here to say the least. As far as specific specs, the broadband clips are 320 x 240 and sometimes a very large 640 x 480 or 720 x 480 in size. It looked like the dial-up clips are all 320 x 240. The broadband vids have a bit rate of 512Kbps, the dial-up clips weigh in at 256Kbps. Both of these versions looked good quality-wise to me (although one had some weird washed out color thing going on and another was more dithery than I expected considering it's bit rate). I even found the dial-up clips to be totally watchable on full-screen. I'm not sure how streamable they'll actually be for dial-up members with a bit rate that high, but I guess you could always save these files to your drive if you have trouble streaming them but don't want to download the larger broadband or "download" clips. The Download clips are typically a bit larger in size and of better quality than the broadband or dial-up clips and this explains Arika's designation of these as the clips you should download. The ones I checked out were 640 x 480 and 720 x 540 in size and although I didn't snag a bit rate, I could tell the difference in quality between the Download clips and the broadband ones. I actually got some errors when trying to stream (or play after I saved) the first video's Download clips, but all the other ones seemed to work fine. One thing I was a little confused about was how the clips were split up. Each vid typically has 4 broadband clips and 4 dial-up clips, each clocking in at around 1-2 minutes. Then there are anywhere from 10-20 Download clips which are about 30 seconds in length. It would seem to make more sense to make these Download clips longer (maybe even all in one big file) since you're taking the time to download them anyway. Maybe there's some sort of logic I'm missing there. The only overall complaint I might say about the vids is that they are a bit muted color wise, much like some of the pics. I see this in a lot on amateur sites though, because it's just real tough under amateur conditions to get enough ambient light. You can still totally see what's going on; I just thought I'd mention it. The subject matter of the vids is in a lot of ways similar to the pics. There's no hardcore here but there is a lot of stripping and masturbation. The settings are all indoor and familiar from the pics: bathroom, bathtub, shower, bedroom, couch, etc.. Arika pleasures herself with her hands as well as a variety of dildos, vibrators, and toys (including the infamous rubber duckie from her photos). There's also a vid where Arika rubs lotion all over herself after getting out of the shower and one I particularly enjoyed where she slides a vibrator all the way up her ass (yeah baby!). She typically starts out either totally naked or wearing a skimpy outfit you'll probably recognize from the pics, whether it be some sort of sexy lingerie, a bra and a thong, or whatever. If you like Arika Ames, you will enjoy the vids. I'm typically a hardcore boy-girl type of guy and even I watched quite a few all the way through to see Arika work her little pussy. It looks like Arika does 1-2 camshows per week on Sex Cam Central. When I checked things out, the shows were on Wednesday and Saturday night from 7-8pm. Arika lists the dates and times of her upcoming camshows on her main member page or you can check the Sex Cam calendar to find out when she's performing. I didn't have the opportunity to see one of Arika's shows for myself, but judging from the two camshow replays available in her Video sectoin her shows are solo and involve stripping and masturbation. Also in the interaction department, Arika has a message board in her members area (this can be found under Chat in the main menu). Arika herself posts on this board and it looks like she does so quite frequently; I noticed a lot of threads started by Arika and she currently has over 350 posts (she just registered in June 2004). Her posts are sweet and friendly and really add a personal aspect to the board and the site overall. What a cutie. I think I've got a crush on Arika Ames *sigh*. There isn't really any bonus content on Arika's site. You don't get any access to any other sites and there's no filler pics or vids. She does have the obligatory Friends galleries, advertising 13 other webgirls in exchange for a handful of pics, but that's about it. |

| Well, as you probably gathered from my review, I'm a big fan of little Arika's looks. She's a sexy chick for sure. As far as ArikaAmes.com goes, my biggest complaint was with the size of her photos. She really should bump things up to at least 600 x 800 at least for future updates (it would be great if she could refurbish the images already on the site as well, assuming she still has the original pics) and a desktop wallpaper or two wouldn't hurt either (as I said, I bet this cutie looks even better nice and large). I was pleased with Arika's interaction through her camshows and frequent posts on her message board and her vids (other than being a little dark) were nice looking with multiple download and streaming options, which is always a plus. The only other thing you might want to think about is Arika's slightly higher than average pricetag which becomes a bit more hefty since she doesn't really have a ton of content of herself as of yet and there isn't any bonus content or site access provided either. Personally though, if you think Arika's as cute as I do, I think you'd probably enjoy at least a month's stay regardless of these issues. |
