Today I'm taking a look at Amy's World, home to sexy brunette babe Amy. This chick is a real hottie and in addition to her photos and videos, she's infused her "world" with an incredible amount of personality and interactive features including a very active journal and message board and an extensive live webcam section. Amy's site's been around for a few years now and it look like she really enjoys what she's doing. Let's explore her members area and see if we'll enjoy it as well.
Navigation-wise, Amy's got a nice little setup here and it looks like things are organized well. There are menu choices at the top of the page that link you up to various sections of Amy's members area (pictures, videos, webcam, etc.) and useful links are provided throughout the rest of the page: things like recent updates, a Coming Soon section and Amy's camshow schedule. You can also read her most recent journal entries here and put a "pin" on a virtual map that lets Amy know where her members hail from. There's an "Introduction" text link at the top of the page that pops up text when you mouseover it...Amy uses this convention at the top of each section to let you know a little bit about the area you clicked into. Amy's personallity is all over the pages here, which is always a good thing in a single model amateur site. Checking out the picture section first, I found 76 photosets to take a look at. Each one has a preview thumbnail and Amy offers you the opportunity to view the pics in gallery format or in a slideshow. Amy's photos are quite variable size-wise. In fact, clicking around I rarely found two sets with the same size pics. Most of the sets I looked at had pretty large pics which is great but "large" here could mean 700 x 1000, 900 x 1200, 975 x 1300, 700 x 900, etc. I did find a couple of sets with pretty small pics weighing in at 667 x 500 or 375 x 500 but, like I said, those seemed to be a rare exception not the rule. The quality is much more consistent and, happily, it's consistently pretty good. Some of the pics seemed a little grainy or dithery to me for some reason, but overall, they're clear and well-lit and look pretty nice. Like the rest of her site, Amy's pics contain a bit more personality than your typical amateur site. As a result, when clicking around through the archive, I was never sure exactly what I was going to see next. Some of the sets are typical softcore posing sets where Amy struts herself for the camera in some sort of lingerie and skimpy outfit and then strips (sometimes just topless, sometimes all the way). I found other shoots (for example, there a few of Amy posing in string bikinis on the beach), that were entirely no-nude. And then there are a bunch of what I'll call "personal" pics that really bring out the idea that this site is really Amy's life. These contain shots of various places she's visited, holidays she's celebrated, parties she's had or friends she's hung out with. Most of them don't contain much (if any) nudity, and some of the pics don't even contain any girls at all. In some cases, they're sort of like you've received access to Amy's personal photo collection which, in a way, I guess you have. In addition to her photos, Amy's also got a nice-sized Video section. These are divided up into several categories (Softcore, Hardcore, Cam Shows, and Members Shows) and they look to be in WMV format pretty much all across the board. (The member shows are actually in .flv format which I'd never heard of before, but the clips streamed just fine for me embedded in an html window). Between the 4 sections, she's got 200+ video clips to check out. The latter two categories, as you might have guessed, are archives of past webcam shows Amy has done. I'll talk in more detail about those in the next paragraph. As far as the Softcore and Hardcore sections go, you'll find 99 separate clips in Softcore and 24 filed under Hardcore. Amy splits the longer videos into smaller clips and gives you a preview thumbnail for each one. The videos section has sort of a "thrown together", random look to it which I'm not sure I like, but it gets the job done I suppose. Quality-wise, the vids are a bit of a mixed bag. Many of them looked pretty nice and I could bump them up to full-screen with only minor pixelation that usually occurred during movement. Other clips are too dark and quite pixelated even at their original size. Then there are some nightvision type shoots (unfortunately, most of the boy-girl vids are shot this way) that are very dark and green as you might expect. Size and bit rates vary as well...some are 320 x 240 at 96Kbps or 400Kbps while others are nice and large at 640 x 480 at a whopping 2Mbps. Like the pics, Amy's vids contain plenty of unique and personal footage mixed in with more typical pornshoot-type stuff. You'll see Amy topless on the beach, skinnydipping in a hottub, shaving in the shower, masturbating with a variety of toys, and getting it on with her girlfriends. There are also some boy-girl clips (these are unfortunately usually all in nightvision as I mentioned) featuring BJ's and fucking. There are also lots of everyday, real-life style clips that really bring out Amy's personality. For instance, there's a whole series of videos (these are spread throughout the archive and I wish they'd been grouped together) of Amy making the long drive from the East Coast to Las Vegas. There's no nudity in the clips and a lot of the footage is out the car window, but Amy's chatting throughout and the videos are quite entertaining. Another one is a hilarious vid of Amy's cat hiding under a table while keeping Amy's dog at bay with swipes of its paw (with Amy giggling in the background). It's these glimpses into Amy's real life that make her site so unique and intriguing. Amy's site has a great amount of interaction going for it. In addition to her journal, which she writes lengthy entries in once (or sometimes even twice) a day, there's also an extensive webcam section. Amy does at least 3 shows a week on 2 different networks: Amateur Cam House and Camz (this of course also gives you access to all of the other shows and performers on those two networks). Also, after her network show, Amy gets on her members only webcam and does an additional hour long show just for members. She describes this show as "usually chatting but you never know". As I mentioned, Amy archives both shows in the Videos section so you can check out the ones you've missed. In addition to the network and members only shows, Amy's also a part of Housecamz which allows you to watch her 24/7 on several live webcams around her house. Lastly, there's a message board in the Extras section with a ton of forums in a wide variety of subjects from world news and movie reviews to specific stuff regarding Amy's site. Amy posts here quite frequently it looks like (1747 posts since June 2005). Really some awesome interaction going on here and my hat's off to Amy for it. There's a nice selection of extras here at Amy's World as well. First off, there's a Girlfriends section containing 11 photogalleries featuring other girls. The neat thing about these is that the chicks aren't other webgirls, they're Amy's real-life friends...how cool is that? There's some girl-girl action between Amy and some of them as well as some softcore posing and some more "everyday" type pics. In addition, there's a small Fan Art and Games section, a yahoo group, access to KSEX radio, and an Amy biography complete with a quiz to see how well you read lol. |

| Regardless of what score we assign Amy's World, this has to be one of the best real amateur sites around due to the amount of personality Amy injects into her online world. A lot of things are kind of variable here (photo size and content quality to name a couple), but I think in some ways that variability just reinforces the real-life nature of the site. Most importantly, the interaction at Amy's World is tough to beat with an incredibly impressive camshows schedule, live 24/7 housecams, a daily diary and a huge, active message board. For those of you who really like to get to know and feel connected to the webgirl whose site you've joined, you really owe it to yourself to step into Amy's World. |
